The concert will be held on December 7 in Santa Cruz de La Palma.
Mexican singer Alejandro Fernández was announced on Monday as the headliner for the second edition of ‘La Palma Blue Experience’, a festival with a sustainable soul organized by the Cabildo de La Palma through the public company SODEPAL, which seeks to raise awareness about the need to protect and care for the sea, marine ecosystems, and the island’s natural resources.
Alejandro Fernández “El Potrillo” will perform on December 7 in Santa Cruz de La Palma, and tickets will be available starting Wednesday, October 2, on the festival’s official website (
). Alejandro returns to La Palma fourteen years after his last concert to present his latest album, Te llevo en la sangre, released in May of this year. However, his live performance will also include his most legendary songs, such as Me dediqué a perderte, Me hace tanto bien, and Procuro Olvidarte.
Other activities
Although Alejandro Fernández’s concert is the highlight of this edition, there will be no shortage of activities and talks on environmental awareness, workshops, music, comedy, exhibitions, and countless other activities related to the protection of the sea and the oceans. ‘La Palma Blue Experience’, the largest social, environmental, and cultural event held on the island, was announced on Monday at a press conference by the president of the Cabildo de La Palma, Sergio Rodríguez; the mayor of Santa Cruz de La Palma, Asier Antona; the director general of Costas del Gobierno de Canarias, Antonio Acosta; and the director of Farra World, the promoter and organizer of ‘La Palma Blue Experience’, Alexis González.
In this regard, the president of the Cabildo de La Palma, Sergio Rodríguez, thanked El Potrillo for choosing the island to “hold one of the few concerts he will give in Spain as part of his tour and the only one in the Canary Islands in 2024.” “This new edition of the Blue Experience consolidates one of the most important sustainable events on the island,” which “focuses on our sea and our natural resources,” as well as on the need to “protect, care for, and make proper use of its resources.” “With this international festival, we seek to continue positioning La Palma as a tourist destination, while revitalizing and strengthening the green and blue economy, and promoting education, environmental commitment, leisure, and sustainable culture.”
For all these reasons, Rodríguez has invited all Palmeros and Palmeras, as well as those visiting the island during the Constitution Day long weekend, to join in this festival, because “citizen participation is essential,” given that “we are all directly responsible for our natural resources.” For this reason, “social involvement is essential to reinforce our common goal of protecting our environment, not only for current generations, but also for future ones.”
Commitment
For his part, the mayor of Santa Cruz de La Palma, Asier Antona, recalled that “the current government team’s commitment was to revitalize the city, and we have achieved this with events of the utmost importance that have a very significant economic impact on our city, such as the Alejandro Fernández concert.” “The Blue Experience is another addition to the wide range of leisure initiatives and is here to stay thanks to the Cabildo’s firm commitment to our city,” he said.
The Director General of Coasts for the Canary Islands Government, Antonio Acosta, expressed his gratitude for the invitation from the La Palma Island Council to participate in this second edition of La Palma Blue Experience, adding that “at the Directorate of Coasts, we hope that this festival will help to promote awareness of the riches of our Canary Islands coastline.”
Alexis González, director of Farra Events, said that “they are very happy to be back 14 years after their incredible performance in La Palma with international star Alejandro Fernández.” “We want La Palma Blue Experience to establish itself as an unmissable event that puts La Palma back on the national scene as a sustainable island that is also committed to entertainment and revitalization,” said González. The full program for the second edition of ‘La Palma Blue Experience’ will be announced shortly.
